Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how the Whisperian application ("App") processes information when you use it.
In this Privacy Policy, "we", "our", or "us" refers to Duplex d.o.o. (the "App Operator").
By using the App, you consent to the data practices described in this Policy. We encourage you to read this document in its entirety to understand how we manage your information.
2. What We Do and Don't Collect
We do not operate our own cloud for transcription. Voice recordings and transcriptions stay on your device or go only to the third-party providers selected in the active profile configuration.
We do not collect behavioral tracking, contact information, or location. We collect anonymous diagnostic and usage data for crash reporting and app reliability.
We read the text in the field you are currently typing in and your cursor position to place the transcription in the right spot. We do not store or transmit that text or use it for anything else.
We read the list of active windows to detect when a keyboard is present. We do not store or transmit lists of windows.
3. Data We Process to Run the App
Microphone audio and transcription content is recorded locally, then sent from your device to your chosen provider for transcription and (optionally) post-processing. Transcriptions are saved locally in history unless you disable storage.
Any API keys you add are stored locally using encrypted storage and only used to call the selected provider.
We may use Google Play Integrity to send an attestation token and basic device integrity signals to our server solely to prevent fraud/abuse. We do not use this for profiling or advertising. Tokens/logs are kept only as long as needed for security purposes.
We use Firebase Crashlytics for crash reporting and diagnostics. Crashlytics may collect device and app diagnostics such as device type, OS version, device language, system logs, performance metrics, and other reliability data. This data does not include your prompts, location, recordings, or transcriptions. We use this data to detect crashes, improve stability, and diagnose bugs.
4. Third-Party Providers
When you use a third-party provider (including already configured providers or providers you configure with your own API keys), your content is sent directly from your device to that provider.
Please review the privacy policies of any third-party providers you choose to use.
5. Data Security and Retention
Local data (recordings, transcripts, settings) remains on your device unless you delete it, disable history, or uninstall the app. Auto-delete settings remove older history if enabled.
API keys are stored using secure, platform-backed encryption.
Device verification tokens are retained only as needed for security.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You can delete recordings and transcripts from history, disable history, or uninstall the app to remove local data.
To exercise rights under GDPR/CCPA (access, correction, deletion, portability, objection), email support@whisperian.app with your request and the region you are in. We aim to respond within 30 days, subject to applicable law.
7. Children's Privacy
The app is not intended for children under 16 in the EEA/UK (or the minimum age required by local law).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
8. International Users
Anti-abuse verification and support traffic may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
We will post the updated Policy and, when appropriate, show you a notice in the App.
